About Milly

Milly was captured and transported along with other belugas in Russia, to holding in Russia, and then to Japan. Milly was originally captured as part of an order made to captors by the Georgia Aquarium, along with 18 other belugas, most of whom's fates aren't known. The import permit for the whales was blocked by the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration, or NOAA, and Milly ended up in Kamogawa.

About Nina

Like Milly, Nina was a failed import attempt made by the Georgia Aquarium. When she couldn't be taken to the US, she ended up in Japan. 

New Births

Recently, two belugas were born at the aquarium; one to Nina and the other to Beets. Little is known about either calf at this time.

Yulka was captured in Russia and then moved to a marine park in Argentina, where she met with Kairo. In 2003, Kairo and Yulka moved to Spain. Since then, Yulka has had two calves. One in 2006, that did not survive. In 2016, she had Kylu.

According to released ultrasound images, Gray is pregnant with Nico's calf.
